Land Acknowledgment
I acknowledge the spiritual and physical connection the Pennacook, Abenaki, and Wabanaki Peoples have maintained to N’dakinna (homeland) and the aki (land), nebi (water), olakwika (flora), and awaasak (fauna). I also acknowledge the hardships they continue to endure after the loss of unceded homelands. I acknowledge that our fieldwork occurs on the unceded homeland of the Sámi Peoples (Sápmi). I acknowledge this not only in thanks to the Indigenous communities who have held a relationship with this land for generations, but also in recognition of the historical and ongoing legacy of colonialism.
